What is the Safe Riders (Child Safety Seat) Program?

Safe Riders is a car seat safety and distribution program for low-income families and is funded through the Texas Department of Transportation. Safe riders classes are offered on a bi-monthly basic.

Qualifications

• Primary caregiver/legal guardian must attend class (approx 35-45 minutes)
• Must be low income
• Someone in the household must have a vehicle with working lap and shoulder belts
• One seat per family
