The primary function of the Division of Investigations is responsible to ensure that Texas educators meet the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior. Criminal histories and reports of misconduct that are received by the division are reviewed for the purpose of educational related certification, or in the case of non-certified employees, for the purpose of employability. If an educator is investigated, staff must determine whether or not the individual’s certificate should be sanctioned.
