Welcome to the Texas Department of State Health Services Retail Food Operation and Retail Food Establishment New Permit Application

Applying for a permit online is convenient and easy, requiring only a few simple steps:

• Enter all requested information regarding your place of business and ownership structure.
• Review the information you entered and modify, if necessary.
• Pay the non-refundable permit fee(s) using one of the following:
  • MasterCard,
  • Visa,
  • Discover,
  • American Express, or
  • Electronic Check.
• View and print the receipt. Be sure to review the "Additional Information Required" section of the Receipt page so you'll know what to do after completing this online application.

Exemptions from Permitting:

If you meet one of the following exemptions, you are not required to permit:

• Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a food manufacturer and paying a higher fee; or
• Inspected and permitted by County or Public Health District; or
• Non-Profit as a 501(C) organization.
