Other Information:
Garland pharmacist Eugenia Aguagua-Okoye was sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years probation after pleading guilty to defrauding the Medicaid program in a fraudulent billing scheme between January 2002 and April 2005. In August 2008, Aguagua-Okoye, owner of Triumph Infusion Pharmacy, pled guilty to first- and second-degree felony theft after acknowledging her role in overpayment of $155,000 in Medicaid funds in a prescription billing scheme. The attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit found that Agugua-Okoye filled prescriptions that were neither ordered by physicians nor provided to Medicaid patients. Investigators also determined that she also billed Medicaid for more prescriptions or refills than she actually delivered to customers. Aguagua-Okoye will repay the $155,000 to the Medicaid Program.

Information current as of December 4, 2008.
