Tapes Pertaining to Senate Bill 1

These files were produced from cassette recordings made from February 22 to May 24, 1995. The tapes for the following dates have been heavily used in the past and are showing signs of deterioration. In order to preserve these historically valuable records, we have digitzed the tapes that we believe to be relevant to Senate Bill 1 of the 74th Regular Session.

Please note that this is not the result of comprehensive legislative history research. The selection of these files is based on the legislative history of SB1 as set forth in the Legislative Information System Master Bill History for the 74th Regular Session (1995), and on the labeling on the tapes done by Senate Staff Services prior to their transfer to our collection. Downloading Files
Individual files may be downloaded by right clicking on the file number and selecting the "Save Target As...", "Save Link As...", or "Save Link Target As..." option.

Technical Notes
These audio files are not intended to be archival. Their purpose is to minimize oxide wear and base
stress on the original tapes without limiting normal patron use.

A PC running Win98 was used for the work. The playback unit for the cassettes was a Panasonic
portable cassette player.

The original audio signal was digitized at 16 bits per sample, 11025 samples per second, to a
.WAV file, using GoldWave 4.25. That file was then converted to .MP3 format with dMC
using the Lame algorithm with 16 bits depth. The .WAV files were deleted after successful
conversion to .MP3. No enhancement was applied to the signal or the audio files.

The digitization of these files was done between June 9 and July 5, 2005.
