The BCCP Scientific Advisory Committee (or SAC) serves the Coordinating Committee by providing review and oversight of implementation of the permit terms and conditions, and by studying and making recommendations on issues of special concern to the Committee, especially with regard to the study and management of the species and habitats found in the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.

The Scientific Advisory Committee is comprised of five members considered experts in various fields associated with endangered species research and habitat management. SAC members are appointed by the Coordinating Committee, and serve 2-year terms.

The Scientific Advisory Committee routinely meets on a quarterly basis, though additional meetings may be called by the BCCP Coordinating Committee or by any Committee Member. For information about the next scheduled Scientific Advisory Committee meeting, or to review the last meeting agenda, please contact BCCP Cordinating Committee Secretary William Conrad.

In addition to the Scientific Advisory Committee, a Citizens Advisory Committee also serves the Coordinating Committee by studying and making recommendations on issues of special concern to the Committee, and by providing a forum for public input.

For more information about the Scientific Advisory Committee, please contact the Travis County Environmental Specialist and BCCP Coordinator at P.O. Box 1748, 1010 Lavaca, #319, Austin, Texas 78746 or call (512) 854-9437.
