The City of Ennis is located on Interstate Highway 45 just 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas.

Ennis boasts award winning public schools ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. Ennis High School has been named among the top 96 American High Schools and among the top nine High Schools in Texas! All four Ennis elementary schools are currently rated "Exemplary" by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

FY 2009-2010 BUDGET:

THE CITY OF ENNIS ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 5.31 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $17.88.

THE TAX RATE WILL RAISE LESS TAXES FOR THE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND THAN LAST YEAR'S RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL RAISE LESS TAXES FOR THE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $17.88.
