HHSC is soliciting nominations for the Home and Community-Based Services Workforce Advisory Council.  The council will examine direct care workforce issues, including wages and benefits, turnover, recruitment, training and skill development, and retention of personal attendants. Gov. Rick Perry has selected Thomas Suehs of Austin to be the next Texas health and human services executive commissioner. The appointment is effective Sept. 1. “I am confident that Tom will continue the trend of outstanding health and human services vision and expertise, and I am proud to welcome him to his new role as commissioner,” Perry said. Health Care Translators and Interpreters Committee 

HHSC is accepting applications for membership on the Advisory Committee on Qualifications for Health Care Translators and Interpreters.  The committee will help recommend qualifications and standards for health care translators and interpreters. Information for grandparents raising grandkids

HHSC has a new booklet about the benefits available to grandparents raising their grandchildren. The booklet is available at HHSC benefit offices throughout the state and can be downloaded and printed using your computer. [Grandparents Raising Grandchildren]
