Welcome to the Early Childhood Education website. This site will provide you with information about both the prekindergarten and kindergarten programs. We welcome any suggestions you may have that will improve this site for individuals working to provide high quality early childhood education.

On this website, you will find the Prekindergarten Curriculum Guidelines and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Kindergarten. In addition to curriculum information, you will find TEA policies, rules and regulations relating to early childhood education. The laws pertaining to both prekindergarten and kindergarten found in the Texas Education Code (TEC) are provided. Two documents addressing “Frequently Asked Questions and Answers about Prekindergarten and Kindergarten” will provide valuable information about these two programs. Links to other websites containing related information will also be available and updated.
