In-School Driver Education and Traffic Safety unit, and its mission is
to enable all driver education students in Texas to acquire the
essential knowledge, skills, and experiences to perform reduced-risk
driving practices in the total traffic environment by completing
a driver education and traffic safety course. To achieve this
goal, students are required to master the following elements:

driver performance including alcohol and other drugs; and protecting
Texas natural resources.
Teachers
help students master these elements through a combination of classroom
and actual or simulated in-car instruction that includes modeling,
knowledge assessment, skill assessment, guided observation, and
