Binational Health Councils

The purpose of a Binational Health Council is to examine health needs, problems, and available programs with particular attention and concern to the Council's geographical area, and to consider how its members can promote appropriate actions by the Council via participatory activities.

There are seven active Binational Health Councils along the Texas-Mexico border. They are:

  • El Paso / Ciudad Juarez / Las Cruces
  • Presidio / Ojinaga
  • Del Rio / Ciudad Acuña
  • Eagle Pass / Piedras Negras / Kickapoo Nation (tri-national)
  • Los Dos Laredos (Laredo / Nuevo Laredo)
  • McAllen / Reynosa
  • Brownsville / Matamoros
