2009 Government Law & Liability Conference

You are invited to attend the 2009 Government Law & Liability Conference sponsored by the Office of the Attorney General. This conference is designed for state agency board members, general counsels and executive directors. If you are a newly appointed state agency board member, this conference will provide you with the board member training possibly required by your agency. The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 5:00 p.m. each day.

The 2009 Administrative Law Handbook will be available on the OAG website in October. No hard copies of the handbook will be produced this year.

The conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel & Suites-Town Lake located at 111 East Cesar Chavez @ Congress Avenue in downtown Austin. To make hotel reservations, call the hotel directly at (512) 478-9611. Special rates of $85.00/single or $145.00/double per night are being offered. Reservations must be made by Friday, September 18, 2009, to obtain these rates, or until the room block is full, whichever occurs first, so please make your reservation as soon as possible. After the room block is full, rooms will be sold based on availability. When making your reservation, you should request the "OAG Conference" room block.

Houston Regional Gang Course

The Houston Regional Gang Course is designed to offer current and comprehensive information on street and prison gangs specific to the region. Attendance will be limited to law enforcement and gang prevention specialists, with preference given to those from the Harris County region.

Due to the sensitive nature of gang intelligence and case information presented, only criminal and juvenile justice agency personnel such as law enforcement; corrections; probation; parole; and prosecution officials providing proper credentials each day will be allowed to attend the Law Enforcement Track.

The Office of the Attorney General invites you to the 2009 Open Government Conference. This conference is designed for the general public, government employees and public officials, representatives of the media and companies doing business with Texas government. The conference will be December 14-15, 2009. This year's conference will feature a 2-day format, meeting from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day.
