Sales Tax
Electronic Reporting and Paying
WebFile: Use this convenient Web-based system to electronically file your sales tax return and submit an electronic payment (by credit card, electronic check or via a link to the state’s TEXNET payment system). You can also use WebFile to make a payment only or to amend a previously filed return.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): Recommended for businesses reporting more than 30 outlets or tax jurisdictions. The Comptroller’s office recommends its approved EDI software to electronically submit large volumes of data with an option to include payment information.

Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or ACH credit. Taxpayers who paid $100,000 or more in sales tax are required to submit their payment through TEXNET.

TeleFile: As another electronic reporting option, you can use the telephone to file a sales tax return if you have one or more locations and no sales at any of them.

Enroll in TEXNET, the State of Texas Financial Network, to transfer payment directly to the Comptroller’s office through ACH debit or ACH credit. Taxpayers who paid $100,000 or more in franchise tax are required to submit their payment through TEXNET.
