Clerk to be presented the 2009 Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year Award
San Antonio City Clerk Leticia M. Vacek has been selected as the 2009
Municipal Clerk of the Year by the Texas Municipal Clerks Association
(TMCA), Inc. TMCA, Inc. is a professional organization with 924 members
dedicated to serving the demands of excellence in Texas local
government. Vacek will be recognized at an Awards Banquet held this
Thursday evening, October 8, at the TMCA, Inc. Graduate Institute at the Menger Hotel,
204 Alamo Plaza.

The City's Planning and Development Services Department
invites you to join thousands of communities across the country in recognizing
October as National Community Planning Month.
9/28: River Walk Stationary
Designated Public Space Vending Permit applications to be made available
on October 12 Vendors who are interested in selling novelty items on the River Walk at one
of the six designated stationary sites will have the opportunity to
participate in a lottery drawing process on Friday, November 13, at 9:30
a.m. at the Central Library Auditorium, 600 Soledad. To participate in the
lottery, vendors must complete a permit application and other necessary
requirements. An informational session to provide an overview of the program
will be held on Thursday, October 8, at 9:30 a.m. at the Central Library
Auditorium.
9/23: Public Comment period extended for
SBEDA Ordinance
The Economic Development Department has extended the public comment
period for the Draft Small Business Economic Development Advocacy
(SBEDA) Ordinance. Stakeholders, organizations and residents interested
in reviewing the draft will now be able to do so until Wednesday,
October 14.

9/18: Make
the pledge to recycle tomorrow!
Tomorrow, September 19,
will be declared "Recycle Day" as the City's Solid Waste Management Department
host its fourth mobile household hazardous waste event (HHW) but with a twist.
At the event, residents will not only be able to recycle HHW items they have
lying around but they will also be able to recycle gently used clothing, gently
used furniture, and all recyclable materials accepted in the City's recycling
program. Composting classes will also be offered throughout the day during the
event.
9/18: VITA signing up
volunteers for 2010 tax filing season
The City of San Antonio and the Alamo City Coalition for Economic
Self-Sufficiency (ACCESS) are urging professionals, high school/college
students and community members to donate a few hours of their spare time
each week during next year's income tax season as preparers and site
staff for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

International Plumbing Code Design, International Residential Code
changes focus of next SABCA seminars
Plumbing and residential code changes are the focus of the next
installment of the City's San Antonio Building Codes Academy (SABCA)
seminars. The seminars are scheduled for October 12 though
October 15 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, room
001, river level.
9/18: National Public Lands Day
2009 celebration to include initial restoration of three acres of
grassland savanna at Voelcker Park
Residents are invited to celebrate National Public Lands Day by joining
forces with the City of San Antonio's Parks and Recreation Department,
Texas Public Radio and Voelcker Park Conservancy to begin planting the
first three acres of restored grassland savanna at Voelcker Park. The
event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 7:30 a.m. until noon at
Voelcker Park, 12000 N.W. Military Hwy. Volunteers may park at the
Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community located at 12500 N.W.
Military Highway.
9/17: City passes $2.3 billion
balanced budget for FY 2010
City Council today approved a $2.3 billion balanced budget
for fiscal year 2010 that focuses on the City's core mission and basic
services and encompasses efficiency reductions, resource redirections
and service modifications totaling more than $19 million in reduced
spending.

Luminaria and Main Plaza
receive international recognition
The redevelopment of the "heart of the city" and an
event that celebrated the local arts garnered the City of San Antonio two
prestigious international awards. Through projects submitted by the Downtown
Operations Department, the City was recognized by the International Downtown
Association (IDA) with two 2009 Downtown Achievement awards for the Main
Plaza: The Heart of the City Redevelopment Project and Luminaria:
Arts Night in San Antonio. The awards were presented during the IDA's
55th Annual Conference held September 11-15, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
9/16: City's San Antonio
Building Codes Academy to host seminar on Unified Development Code
The Planning and Development Services Department will host a course on
the Unified Development Code (UDC) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
on September 28 and 29 at the Cliff Morton Development and
Business Services Center, Training Rooms A and B, located at 1901 S.
Alamo. This is the first time the City is offering a course on the UDC.
9/14: City's EDD
and CIMS host
Contract Management Program
The City's Economic Development Department's Small Business
Division and Capital Improvement Management Services Department will
host a four-series seminar for local businesses as part of their
Contract Management Program. The program will walk individuals through
the fundamentals of maintaining a construction businesses office,
accessing capital, understanding the bid process and bonding.
9/11: City to hold
public meeting on proposed Scrap Tire Ordinance
The City's Housing and Neighborhood Services Department will hold a
public meeting from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on
Thursday,
September 24, at the Palm Heights Community Center, 1201 W.
Malone, in order to obtain input on the proposed scrap tire ordinance.
9/10: City Manager Receives
International Career Excellence Award
City Manager Sheryl Sculley has been selected by the
International City/County Management Association (ICMA) to receive the Award
for Career Excellence given annually in Honor of Mark E. Keane. The
Association's Award for Career Excellence recognizes an outstanding chief
local government administrator who has "fostered representative democracy by
enhancing the effectiveness of local elected officials and by consistently
initiating creative and successful programs."
9/9: Inner city, urban area
development featured at City's 2009 Community Development Summit
While San Antonio and other metropolitan cities have
experienced a surge in urban sprawl, there are ways to spark redevelopment in
the inner city. This is one of several topics that will be featured at this
year's Community Development Summit,

City begins work to restore historic Presa Street Bridge
Beginning today, Presa Street will be closed to through traffic between
Market and Villita streets as the City begins work to restore the Presa St.
Bridge. Traffic will be able to access Presa from Nueva.

The City of San Antonio’s Procurement
Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), is offering a seminar entitled Doing
Business with the State of Texas, a seminar that will highlight information on
how to obtain the State of Texas' Historically Underutilized Business (HUB)
Certification, registering as a vendor, searching for opportunities and
how to get on the Texas Multiple Award Schedule (TXMAS).

Summit
As the beginning of the gala season approaches, the City of
San Antonio's
Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization (NCR) Program is putting a spin on
things with a Breakfast Gala as part of the 2009 Community Development
Summit: Creating Great Places: From House to Market. The event is
scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17 at
the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The awards gala recognizes
local businesses that have participated and excelled in the program for the
past year.

small business ordinance
The City of San Antonio Small Business Advocacy Committee (SBAC)
will host a Business Stakeholder’s Meeting from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00
p.m. on Friday, August 28, at Municipal Plaza Building - B Room, 114 W.
Commerce. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide input on the
City’s Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA) Draft
Ordinance.
8/25: Open House set for the
Dignowity Hill Neighborhood Plan and Eastside Reinvestment Plan
The Dignowity Hill Neighborhood Plan and
the Eastside Reinvestment Plan Open House is set for Saturday, August
29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium.
Attendees will have an opportunity to review and comment on the draft
plan. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation beginning at
1:00 p.m. with opening remarks from District 2 Councilwoman Ivy Taylor.
8/24: Free seminar to focus on
insurance for small businesses
On Wednesday, September 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the
Cliff Morton Development and Business Services Center, 1901 South
Alamo., the City's Economic Development Department (EDD) Small Business
Division will host a free seminar for prospective and existing small
business owners who want to learn about small business insurance.
8/21: Historic Preservation
Symposium to offer AICP credit
There are still spaces available for individuals interested in
attending the City’s Office of Historic Preservation symposium taking
place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, at the
Development and Business Services Center – Training Rooms A and B, 1901
S. Alamo. The symposium will offer 1.5 hours of MC credits for AICP
certified professionals.
8/21: Video helps residents learn
more about the City’s FY 2010 Balanced Proposed Budget
Anyone interested in learning more about the budget proposed for the
City’s 2010 fiscal year is encouraged to tune into TVSA, the City’s
government access channel, to view a comprehensive video that provides an
overview of the balanced proposed budget, the City’s revenue sources, and
how residents can participate in the process.

residents an opportunity to comment on 2010 Balanced Proposed City
Budget
San Antonio residents are invited to provide their comments
on the City’s Fiscal Year 2010 Proposed Budget by attending community
hearings in each Council district. The hearings are set to begin Monday,
August 17. The FY 2010 Balanced Proposed Budget was presented to City
Council this morning.

volunteers to take part in the Housing and Neighborhood Services
Department’s Graffiti Wipeout Days.

8/7: City set to receive first
round of federal stimulus funding for homeless prevention and rapid
re-housing program
The City of San Antonio is slated to receive its first round of stimulus
funding as part of the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of
2009. The funds, totaling more than $5.97 million, will be used to
support the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP). The
funding, which stems from the Housing and Urban Development Emergency
Shelter Grants program, will support such services as rental and utility
assistance, relocation to stable housing and credit counseling.

Participants in the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department’s
Summer Youth Program at the Southside Lions Community Center will be
celebrating Friday, July 31, at 2 p.m. with a pizza party for the
accomplishment of one of their own, Cipriana Sanchez, whose artwork was
chosen out of 100 entries to be featured on the 6th Annual Graffiti Wipeout
Volunteer Day official poster.
7/24: Public Meeting set to
discuss Roosevelt Corridor Reinvestment Plan
Councilwoman Jennifer V. Ramos and the City’s Planning and Development
Services Department are hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed
Roosevelt Corridor Reinvestment Plan, including the Roosevelt Avenue
Metropolitan Corridor Overlay District design standards and
recommendations for zoning changes. The meeting will be held at 6:00
p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at the Harlandale Community Center, located
at 7227 Briar Place.

Historic Homeowner Fair
The City’s Office of Historic Preservation is looking for
exhibitors interested in participating in the Historic Homeowner Fair
that will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29
at the Municipal Auditorium, 100 Auditorium Circle.

Historic Preservation
The City’s Office of Historic Preservation is hosting a community
symposium featuring renowned preservation expert, Donovan Rypkema, a
leader in the economics of historic preservation and principal of
PlaceEconomics, a Washington, D.C., based real estate and economic
development-consulting firm. Rypkema will speak about historic
preservation as a tool for sustainability.

Services Administration Contractor”
The City of San Antonio Economic Development Department’s
Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is offering a seminar
designed to provide new and existing businesses with details on how to
become a General Services Administration (GSA) schedule contractor.
7/17: City of San Antonio
launches Embrace BRAC San Antonio campaign
Today, the City of San Antonio launched the Embrace BRAC San
Antonio public awareness campaign in front of 200 community leaders,
military officers and elected officials at Fort Sam Houston’s historic
Quadrangle Mall. The multimedia communications effort is aimed at
creating greater local awareness about the opportunities presented by
the multi-billion-dollar military realignment project happening in San
Antonio.

Gerrit-Jan Knaap, the executive director for the
National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education, has been tapped as
one of the keynote speakers at the 2009 Community Development Summit,
Creating Great Places: From House to Market, scheduled for
September 16 and 17 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

graffiti work sessions
The City’s Housing and Neighborhood Services Department’s will hold two
community work sessions on Tuesday, July 28 and Wednesday,
July 29 to discuss ideas for a proposed Graffiti Strategic Plan. The
department seeks to strengthen anti-graffiti efforts in the San Antonio
community through a coordinated plan of action.

On Monday, July 13, the City’s Economic Development
Department’s (EDD) First Point Business Information Office will be moving to
the Cliff Morton Development and Business Services Center (DBSC), 1901
South Alamo Street.
7/7: This weekend, declare
your independence from junk
Declare your independence from household junk by taking part in
the City’s free landfill disposal day this Saturday, July 11.
7/2: Citizens reminded of
parking regulations during First Friday
The City of San Antonio reminds citizens of the rules for parking during
the First Friday events from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Southtown
and King William area. Residential parking regulations will be in effect
tomorrow, Friday, July 3. No parking is allowed in neighborhoods
surrounding the First Friday event. In addition, participants are
advised to adhere to the City’s parking restrictions within
neighborhoods and maintain roadway access for emergency vehicles.
7/2: City to hold forum on
Small Business Policy Options
The City of San Antonio’s Small Business Advocacy Committee (SBAC) will
hold a business stakeholders meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on
Thursday, July 9, at the Municipal Plaza Building – B Room, 114 W.
Commerce. Attendees will review and comment on preliminary policy
options drawn from the Disparity Study recommendations, adopted by City
Council on June 25, and previous input from the business community.

It’s Independence Day, time to celebrate the Red, White and Blue but
it’s also time to celebrate being green. Here is another helpful

7/1: STWBC announces business
plan competition
The City’s South Texas Women’s Business Center (STWBC) has kicked
off its first annual business plan competition. The finalists of the
business plan will be judged at STWBC’s Women’s Business Symposium on
August 28 at the Norris Conference Center at Crossroads Mall, 4522
Fredericksburg Road, during the Symposium’s luncheon.
6/25: New mascot makes big
Texas debut
Next week San Antonio will give a big Texas welcome to the City’s
Solid Waste Management Department’s latest addition to help San Antonio
recycle. Donning a cowboy hat and boots, “Carter” the two-cart mascot
will make his debut to teach us all just how easy it is to bag in brown
and recycle in blue.
6/25: Council votes to accept
Disparity Study
At an A Session Public Hearing held today, City Council voted to
accept the findings and recommendations of the 2009 San Antonio Regional
Business Disparity Causation Analysis Study (Disparity Study) for the
purposes policy development.
6/24: Independence

Workshop
The City’s Office of Historic Preservation and the University of Texas
San Antonio will offer a second interactive wood window workshop July 31
and August 1.
6/23: City Council to hold

On Thursday, June 25, City Council will hold a public hearing on
the findings and recommendations of the 2009 San Antonio Regional
Business Disparity Causation Analysis Study (Disparity Study). The
public hearing will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers, 103 Main Plaza.
6/23: Garbage and recyclable
collections for Independence Day
Residents who receive garbage or recyclable collection on Friday or
Saturday will receive their collection during the Fourth of July
holiday.
However, the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Drop-off Site, 7030 Culebra,
will not be open for service July 3 or July 4.
6/23: Declare the holiday an
independence day from junk
After the holiday festivities are over, declare your
independence from household junk by taking part in the City’s free
landfill disposal day on Saturday, July 11. Residents are invited
to load up all of their unwanted items such as old sofas, mattresses,
household appliances or even car tires (six tires per household) and
leave them at one of the five designated drop-off locations from 8:00
a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No hazardous waste will be accepted.
6/19: Public meetings set to discuss digital
off-premise sign ordinance
The City’s Planning and Development Services Department is hosting four
community meetings to discuss aspects of the 2007 pilot program digital
off-premise sign ordinance. Topics include message timing, sign
brightness, distance requirements and take down ratios.

Cultural Arts Theatre, 1301 Guadalupe.
6/10: Community Workshop #3 for
Strategic Historic Preservation Plan
The City’s Office of Historic Preservation will hold a final
Community Workshop from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30,
at the Development Services Building, 1901 S. Alamo, Training Rooms A &
B, to review the Preliminary Strategic Historic Preservation Plan.

This week’s Movies by
Moonlight takes viewers into the jungle of Madagascar
It’s the call of the wild at the next Movies by Moonlight showing
of the animated film Madagascar set for tomorrow, Thursday,
June 11, at HemisFair Park. Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m. with
pre-entertainment by the Woodlawn
Theatre performing some scenes from High School Musical. The
feature film will begin at 8:30 p.m.

“Contractor’s Access to Capital”
The City of San Antonio’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC),
is offering a seminar entitled Contractor’s Access to Capital, a seminar
to provide government contractors with information on various funding
resources that are available to the small business community.

The San Antonio and Bexar County Head Start Program is currently
registering new and returning students at several locations across the
city and county.

Transportation Advisory Board
Citizens are encouraged to get involved in local government. The
Transportation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the Director of
the San Antonio Police Department, in reference to City ordinances,
rules, and regulations on the licensing and regulatory review process
for transportation services licensed by the City. These services include
taxicabs, limousines, tour/charter services, pedicabs, and horse
carriages. The City of San Antonio is seeking applicants for the
following categories:
5/28: Early Voting sites for
June 13 Run-off Election scheduled
The City of San Antonio has added Ed White Middle School as
an Early Voting Site in City Council District 2. However, eligible voters in
City Council Districts 2, 5, and 8 can vote at anyone of the available Early
Voting sites. Early Voting for the June 13 Run-off Election will be conducted
from June 1 to June 9.
5/26: Don’t let cleaning
products go down the drain
When you are finish using household cleaners, paint, lawn and garden
products, or automotive fluids remember not to pour them down the drain,
empty them in the trash, or dispose of them on the ground. Instead,
bring them to the City's Solid Waste Management Department's mobile
household hazardous waste event (HHW) on Saturday, June 6 from 8:00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. at Dub Farris Athletic Complex, Loop 1604 at Hausman.

have cans of paint sitting around your home collecting dust then the
City has a proposition for you. The City’s Housing and Neighborhood
Services Department’s Graffiti Abatement Program in partnership with the
Solid Waste Management Department is looking to collect several good
gallons of paint as they kick-off their annual paint drive to collect
paint for the 2009 Graffiti Wipeout event.

4/16: City to enforce yard
parking laws during Fiesta celebrations
As the city gears up for the Fiesta festivities, the City’s
Housing and Neighborhood Services Code Compliance Division and the
Police Department want to remind citizens that is illegal to park
vehicles on front and side lawns or to sell your yard space for parking
at anytime. This rule will be strictly enforced during such events as
Fiesta Oyster Bake, Night in Old San Antonio, the King William Fair and
other Fiesta celebrations.
4/16: Deadline
extended for Municipal Civil Service Commission applicants
The deadline has been extended for individuals interested in
serving as an alternate or regular Municipal Civil Service Commissioner.
Interested applicants have until Friday, May 8 to submit an
application. The selected individuals will be appointed by City Council
and must be available to serve an initial two-year term. Appointed
alternate or regular commissioners will be compensated $20 per meeting
and provided free designated parking.

The City’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), is
offering a free seminar, “Prime Contractor Connection,” to highlight
prime contractors in the construction industry in the San Antonio area
and provide guidance to local small businesses on their organization’s

neighborhood on-street parking regulations during Alamodome and downtown
special events
With the 2009 Fiesta celebration just days away, the City’s Downtown
Operations Department wants to remind citizens of the neighborhood
on-street parking decal program rules for Alamodome and other downtown
special events. This rule will be strictly enforced each day during the
Fiesta Carnival starting Wednesday, April 15 through Sunday, April 26.
Enforcement will be from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and
from 10:00 a.m. to midnight on weekends.
4/14: Community Initiatives to
meet with parents for Head Start services during community meetings set
for April, May and June
The City of San Antonio continues to provide information and outreach to
families of children currently enrolled in Head Start. On April 9, City
Council approved contracts and new Head Start providers are prepared to
offer improved early education, health, nutrition and family support
services throughout Bexar County beginning on August 24.

Fiesta 2009 kicks off this Thursday, April 16.

participate in Brackenridge Park cleanup
When the barbecue pit smoke clears, mounds of trash often remains
after the traditional Easter holiday festivities at Brackenridge Park.
For that reason, the City of San Antonio, in partnership with the
Brackenridge Park Conservancy, San Antonio River Authority and San
Antonio Water System, is inviting citizens to join in a volunteer
cleanup effort at the park, 3700 N. St. Mary’s St., from 7:30 a.m. to
10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 13. Volunteers may check in at the Joske
Pavilion between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Refreshments will be available

In preparation for the Third Annual Great Texas Warrant
Roundup, the City’s Municipal Court announced today that individuals who have
unpaid fines related to misdemeanor violations such as traffic violations and

under a pre-roundup grace period.

Applicants are being sought for the Small Business Advocacy
Committee. The Committee is comprised of 11 members appointed by the

Development Department, functions as an advisory group by assisting the
City Manager and City Council in reviewing the continuing programs of
contractors and subcontractors concerning small, minority and women’s
business participation.

Advisory Action Board seeking applicants
Applicants are being sought for the Citizen Advisory Action Board.
The Board hears disciplinary cases that are brought forward by a
complainant against a San Antonio police officer. This procedure applies
only to non-criminal investigations of misconduct by employees. Meetings
are held on Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m., and meeting duration is usually
runs for two to five hours, depending on the agenda. Board members are
also expected to dedicate time to reviewing misconduct cases prior to
each board meeting.

cleaning. Residents are invited to take part in the City’s free landfill
disposal day on Saturday, February 7, by piling up unwanted items such as old

grid - Passes additional costs to ratepayers
Due to the extreme heat this summer, CPS Energy power plants have
been operating at peak capacity. In June, two CPS plants went offline, one
due to a minor explosion and the other due to equipment failure. These
setbacks resulted in the need to purchase energy from the grid, at premium
prices, in order to meet demand. CPS intends to pass any additional energy
costs to the ratepayer.

In March, the office of City Councilman John Clamp brought forward an
opportunity to minimize the costly fuel adjustment charge and lower CPS
Energy bills. Councilman Clamp has asked CPS to evaluate using the revenue
(grid sales) from energy sold to other utility companies to reduce the fuel
adjustment charge impact on residential and business customers in the CPS
service area. This proposal also explores the option of redirecting a
portion of grid sales for future conservation efforts that could help lower
energy consumption

Districts 8 and 9, was passed in order to reduce excessive light pollution

Foundation’s second annual “Grant a Wish for St. Patrick’s Day” event on

families to kick-off Cribs to College, an innovative college savings pilot
program
Mayor Phil Hardberger, together with the United Way of San Antonio,
Bexar County, the San Antonio Children’s Museum, Citibank and the City of
San Antonio’s Department of Community Initiatives, celebrated the launch of
an innovative new program to create college savings accounts for babies at
the Children’s Museum Tuesday.
3/10: Northeast Celebrates Ground
Breaking of New YMCA Facility and Naming of Gym after City Councilwoman

To celebrate the newest recreational facility in the northeast area
of the city, the Office of District 2 City Councilwoman Sheila McNeil and
the YMCA of San Antonio hosted a ground breaking ceremony this morning, with
the YMCA surprising Councilwoman McNeil by unveiling the name of their new
gym as the Sheila McNeil Gym. The new facility will be located on Walzem
Road in the former Albertson’s store building.

On Thursday, February 26, at 6:00 p.m., a public hearing will
be held at Northwood Presbyterian Church, 518 Pike Place, to discuss the
proposed honorary name addition of TAPS Memorial Blvd to Harry Wurzbach.
2/24: Loop 1604 - US 281 Interchange
Remediation Plan
Councilwoman Diane G. Cibrian made a motion to leverage money in order to
provide real solutions for the extreme traffic congestion at the US 281 and
Loop 1604 interchange. The proposed remediation plan includes four
non-tolled lane connection options and the completion of a super street.

Healthy Families San Antonio (HFSA), an affiliate of Prevent Child Abuse
America, will honor Embassy Church at its Change from your Heart
Benefit Gala on February 14, at the historic Pearl Stable. Councilwoman
Galvan was named honorary chair for the event.

Million for BRAC Implementation Activities
After identifying approximately $30 million in remaining balances from
previously funded projects going back 25 years, the City Council through the
leadership of Councilwoman Sheila McNeil has allocated $5.5 million to fund
BRAC related projects near Fort Sam Houston.

Hardberger announces an additional $30 million in funding for City projects
Mayor Phil Hardberger and City Councilmembers Friday announced that the City
Manager has identified approximately $30 million in remaining balances from
previously funded projects going back 25 years that can now be used for
needed capital improvements in the community. City staff identified the
funds from prior capital programs after a three year effort to aggressively
complete and close-out bond and capital projects from 1994, 1999, and 2003
and through the strengthening the City’s financial management.
