Help for victims of sexual assault

Victims of violent crime may be eligible for Crime Victims' Compensation. Texas courts collect court costs from convicted offenders and keep them in a special fund which is administered by the Office of the Attorney General.

If you have been sexually assaulted and are seeking help or information, you can contact your local sexual assault center for free and confidential services. The free services that are available at your local center include:

  • 24 hour crisis hotline
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Hospital advocacy & accompaniment
  • Law enforcement advocacy
  • Legal advocacy & court accompaniment

Did you know?If you are a victim of a violent crime like assault or rape, eligible expenses for crime victims' compensation benefits can include the cost of counseling to help you put your life back together.
