You may begin the application process for a new or renewed Texas Concealed Handgun License or Instructor Certification online using a valid credit card. The online entry expedites the application process and allows the user applying for or renewing a license or certification the capability to track the status of any handgun license or instructor certification application submitted to the department. The submission of photos, fingerprint cards and notarized affidavits will still be required. To renew an existing license, you must have received notification from the department stating that your license or certification is about to expire. If you have moved and failed to notify the department of the change of address, you must contact the department to update this information. Once your address has been corrected, you will be mailed a renewal notification.
