2009 E-waste collection drive

AUSTIN – An e-waste collection drive will be held Friday, April 24, in conjunction with Earth Day 2009. A large trailer will be placed in Lot 22 (15th and San Jacinto Blvd. – enter on the Trinity side), and personnel will accept e-waste items such as computers, laptops, phones, pagers, CD/DVD players, cables, mice/keyboards, hard drives/CD roms/floppy drives, printers, fax machines, miscellaneous electronic equipment, power strips, APC/battery backups, monitors, TVs and PC boards.

“This was an extremely popular feature of our Earth Day celebration last year,” says TFC Recycling Coordinator Thomas Shook. “State employees will have a chance to discard these materials in a way that is safe and useful.”

The e-waste collection drive will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m. The e-waste collection drive is available to all state employees.
