Ineligible CPE Providers

  EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY CPE taken from the following providers will not be eligible for CPE credit.

     --  American Society for Continuing Education (A.S.C.E.), P.O. Box 2877, Brandon, FL 33509
     --  Fred Pryor Seminars, 9757 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66212

NOTE: If you have already purchased or attended a course from Fred Pryor Seminars or A.S.C.E., you must have completed it by October 31, 2009, to get ANY CPE credit.

Individual Renewal Information

License renewals that are due October 31, 2009 can now be completed online.

Use Online Services to manage all phases of the annual license renewal process. Select Annual License Renewal from the Licensee menu to complete your renewal online (if all requirements are met your license will be issued the next business day).

You can begin submitting other information for your renewal six weeks prior to the submission deadline. Submit your renewal fee and payment prior to the deadline. Credit Cards accepted: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

NEW: View a list of reasons your license has not been issued, and submit additions and corrections to your annual license renewal. Once all requirements are met your license will be issued the next business day.

Report CPE courses throughout the year and track your CPE requirement. Submit your email address to receive immediate notification of important information.

Note: If you have not submitted your renewal prior to the deadline, you can still complete your renewal online.

CPA Examination Eligibility Fee

The fee for online submission of the Eligibility Application is now $15 for each section. Use Online Services to apply online and make payment by American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA. After submitting your application, continue to monitor your testing activities daily, and review your scores, credits, and Diagnostic Report online.

Education Requirements to Take the CPA Exam

Effective January 8, 2009, the Board implemented, in the form of content specifications, additional education requirements for applicants to take the CPA exam.

University Pass Rates on the CPA Exam

Comparepassing rates by testing window on the Uniform CPA Examination for universities in Texas.

Out-of-State Practice Privilege

Legislation effective September 1, 2007, creates apractice privilege for certain out-of-state license holders.

Reinstatement of an Individual License

Legislation effective September 1, 2007, defines rules forreinstatement of a license for certain individuals who have moved to another state.

Professional Fee Exemption

H. B. 1316, enacted by the 80th Legislature, sets requirements forexemption from payment of the $200 professional fee for certain government employees.

Accountants Confidential Assistance Network (ACAN)

The Accountants Confidential Assistance Network is a statutory peer assistance program specifically dedicated to helping Texas CPAs, CPA candidates and accounting students. ACAN was previously known as the Concerned CPA Network.
