A celebration of childhood and bilingual literacy: activities, bookmarks,
lists of resources, and original audio files of popular childrens'
songs in Spanish.
Plinkit
Plinkit allows library staff members (or volunteers) to create and
maintain Web site content for their libraries quickly and easily,
without learning HTML or purchasing special equipment or software.
If you are comfortable using a mouse and a Web browser and you have
used the basic editing features of a word processing program, you
will be able to create and edit pages for your library’s Plinkit
Web site in no time at all.
Public Library - Head Start Partnerships
for Early Childhood Education and Family Literacy
There is a natural partnership between public libraries and child
care centers. Both are vitally concerned with the education and
well-being of young children and both have missions to support early
childhood education. Collaborations between public libraries, Head
Start agencies, and child care centers, support rich early childhood
learning experiences and promote family literacy.
Small Library Management Training
Program
The Small Library Management Training Program is an ongoing, voluntary
program that provides management skills to nonMLS directors of small
community (25,000 or less population) libraries in Texas.
Texas Reading Club
This online "handbook" is created to aid in planning and
programming to encourage participation and support of this important
program that is designed to encourage youth to read for pleasure
and to promote library usage.
Texas Teens Read!
The purpose of Texas Teens Read! is to encourage teens
to read during their summer vacations and become lifelong readers
and library users, to establish the library as a safe and engaging
space for teens, and to provide programming that will help teens
become caring, responsible, and successful adults.
