The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, Public Law 107-110, was reenacted January 8, 2002. The goals of the Act include:
- Increasing the accountability for student performance through academic standards, assessment, and yearly progress
- Focusing on what works
- Reducing bureaucracy and increases flexibility
- Empowering parents
