Learn how to design exhibits from idea to installation in this
information-packed one-day workshop. Presenters are Anne Toxey and
Patrick McMillan, the principals of Toxey/McMillan Design Associates
(TMDA), San Antonio. Back by popular demand, this outstanding exhibit
design workshop combines traditional instruction with hands on activity.
The take-home material contains valuable tips, references, and bibliography.
Divided into four clear sections with plenty of hands on activity,
the workshop addresses
(1) development of exhibit theme, objectives, and interpretation;
(2) conceptual design, such as content research and idea sketching;
(3) design development, including signage, graphics, space layout,
lighting, display features, and interactives; and
(4) production design, highlighting budget preparation, production
schedule, fabrication, installation, and post-production testing
and evaluation.
The number of workshop participants is limited to ensure the quality
of the group learning experience. Limit two registrations per organization;
$25 fee covers supplies and lunch.
