Welcome to the City of Italy, Texas!

Welcome to the City of Italy. We are located at the junction of U.S. Highway 77 and State Highway 34, just off Interstate 35E, approximately 15 miles south of Waxahachie and 20 miles north of Hillsboro.

WELCOME LETTER FROM THE MAYOR!

My name is Frank Jackson. I have been mayor for the City of Italy since 1999, before then I had served on the council and several different boards. The main reason that I volunteer my time is the love that I have for this great town.

Italy has a home town atmosphere like no other. What makes this town so great are the people that live here. The residents of Italy are some of the most accepting people there are. The sense of community that they have is phenomenal. The people are always willing to lend a helping hand, and pull together when times get tough. It does not matter if you have lived here all your life or just moved into town.

The City of Italy is on the verge of a large growth spurt and as a community we will be ready. In the past few years we have made substantial improvements to the infrastructure of the town along with the construction of a state of the art wastewater treatment plant. We have also addressed the future water needs for the city.

The City of Italy is served by the Italy Independent School District. The schools have a great history in academics and athletics. We are classified as a large 1-A district this year for the first time in recent years. This could be a very exciting year for the Italy schools.

So in closing, Welcome to the City of Italy, The Biggest Little Town in Texas.

Sincerely,

Mayor Frank Jackson
