Victim Services Division

VICTIM NOTIFICATION

The Victim Services Division is responsible for a 75-point written victim notification system to keep victims informed of offender status after conviction and sentencing to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Correctional Institutions Division.  Along with the initial notification letter, each victim on the TDCJ confidential victim data base receives a brochure explaining all available services.

In addition to our written victim notification letters, victims and their families can retrieve offender status information via telephone 24 hours a day through the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system.  The VINE system gives victims the opportunity to obtain offender status from the time he/she is arrested through completion of his/her sentence.

This automated system is toll-free and is available to victims to obtain offender status information by calling 1-877-894-8463. If requested, the automated system can also call when the offender is being processed for release from the TDCJ-Institutional Division. You may contact our office Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 1-800-848-4284 to register for the automated callout.
