The Texas General Land Office (GLO) offers a variety of programs and
events throughout the year. Many of these programs are focused on schoolchildren
and environmental education. Check the

The GLO hosts and co-hosts several important conferences on environmental issues. Each year there is a Border Energy Forum, Clean Gulf Conference and Coastal Issues Conference. These conferences serve as outreach tools to inform Texas citizen's of how the environment and economy impact our state.
The Texas General Land Office is also the lead agency for the Texas Coastal Management Program (CMP), a multi-organizational effort designed to bring coordination to the cause of coastal protection. Through the CMP and its managing board, the Coastal Coordination Council (CCC), $2 million a year in grant money is available to local coastal communities and organizations for beneficial coastal projects.
