1. How do I search for jobs at the Office of the Attorney General (OAG)?

View our current postings on the Work In Texas (WIT) Website. You can click on any column heading (i.e., Job Title, Location or Pay) to sort the job postings.

2. How do I apply for jobs at the Office of the Attorney General?

Log on to www.WorkInTexas.com. Under 'Looking for a Job' on the right side of the page, click the blue link 'Register as Job Seeker' and enter all relevant employment and personal data. Upon completion, you will be assigned a job seeker ID and password. (Note: A completed State of Texas application is required for all OAG positions.) Click on the 'Match Jobs' tab at the top of the page. Be certain that the WorkInTexas job matches specific to each position are listed under the occupations and industries in your Match Jobs page. The occupation and industry for each position is listed in the header on each OAG job posting. Click on the 'Run Match' tab at the bottom of this page. This compiles a list of positions for which you meet the minimum qualifications. Look for the job for which you want to apply and click 'View Posting' to access it. (Note: If the position for which you want to apply is not included in the list of jobs in your 'Match Results,' see next Frequently Asked Question.) Scroll to the bottom of the page to find a 'How To Apply' button. If you click on this button, you will see a 'Apply Now' button. Clicking the 'Apply Now' button will submit your application for that position. (Note: The OAG will see your resume and application on a list of job seekers who have applied for the position. The hiring unit for the OAG posting will evaluate your information among the list of job seekers when creating the interview pool. If you are included in the interview pool, the hiring division will contact you to schedule an interview.)

3. How do I browse for a position that does not appear in my 'Match Results?'

Select the 'Browse Jobs' tab at the top of the page. You may search by keyword or by selecting 'Occupational Category' from the drop down menu. Click the blue link 'Click Here to Display Choices' and select an occupation from the drop down menu. (Note: You will find the Occupational Category, Occupation and Industry listed in the header of every OAG job posting next to 'Work In Texas Job Match.') Select the location of the position by entering a zip code or selecting city in the 'Region' drop down menu. Click 'Search.' A list of job postings will now appear in your 'Browse Results.' To view a job posting, click the 'View Job Posting' link. (Note: To determine why these positions do not appear in your 'Match Results,' you can compare yourself to the job posting by scrolling to the bottom of the job posting and clicking the blue 'Compare Yourself to this Job Posting' link. This takes you into the 'Comparison' screen, which indicates what match requirements you do not meet.)
