Provide computer training at five locations in a three-county area. Locations
include libraries and senior citizen centers, and training is targeted
to senior citizens, the computer illiterate, and the economically disadvantaged.
Arlington Public Library

Expand services to child care providers, including reading readiness kits,
training workshops, and information on available library services.
Denton Public

Expand services to preschool children in child care centers, including
storytime programs, storytime kits, training for child care teachers,
and a family literacy program.
Dr. Eugene Clark Library

Expand a program providing a mobile computer lab, training in basic and
advanced computer, word processing, and Internet skills, and delivery
of library materials to two economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Cooperation Grants:
Irving Public Library $69,722
Provide a shared interactive virtual reference service to users remotely
accessing the websites of the libraries of Carrollton, Irving, and North
Richland Hills.
Burleson Public Library

Join with the MetrOPAC Consortium, consisting of libraries in Haltom City,
Keller, Richland Hills, and Fort Worth, expanding access to reciprocal
borrowing privileges, a shared on-line public access catalog, and courier
services.
El Paso Public Library
$65,385
Establish consolidated web catalog access, improved resource-sharing and
delivery, and shared reference services for ten participating city, county,
university, community college, and school libraries.
