General Information for Application

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission
welcomes your application for employment. The following procedures
have been established for consideration of all applicants.
APPLICATIONS
One application form must be submitted for each
current vacancy for which you wish to be considered. Copies
will be accepted with an original signature but must be dated and
received during the open posting period. A facsimile will be accepted
if dated and received during the open posting. The facsimile must
be followed with an application that includes an original signature.
Applicants cannot be recommended for employment without an application
with an original signature on file.
Your eligibility for a specific vacancy will be determined from
the information provided in the application and supplemental
data form. All information provided will be verified during the
application process. All portions of the application must be
completed. If questions are not applicable, enter "N/A".
ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE HUMAN RESOURCES
DEPARTMENT ND MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00 P.M. ON THE CLOSING DATE.
APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
Official transcripts must be attached
to the employment application at time of application for
positions requiring degrees or specific course work. Photocopies
will be accepted.
Supporting documents must, also, be submitted at
time of application for positions requiring licenses, registrations,
certifications, and/or writing samples. Photocopies will be accepted.
INTERVIEWS
Interviews are normally conducted within two to three
weeks after the posting period is closed. The supervisor for the
position will contact those selected for interview.
AUTHORIZATION TO WORK
Individuals selected for an interview will be asked
if he or she has authorization to work in the United States. Any
offer of employment will be conditional until proof of authorization
to work in the United States is provided. TSLAC will not assist
foreign nationals who are attempting to obtain work authorization
permits.
