Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority Office

The Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA) supports statewide law enforcement through auto theft reduction initiatives, education and public awareness.

The ABTPA has awarded 485 theft prevention grants to cities, counties and regions around the state since 1991. In that time, auto theft in Texas has decreased by 61 percent (per 100,000 registered vehicles).

ABTPA is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Office's director is Charles Caldwell. You may contact us with questions or comments.
