Rate and Tariff Information

Transmission and Distribution Rates for Investor Owned Utilities
Transmission and Distribution Utilities (TDUs) must offer access to their wires to all REPs on a non-discriminatory basis under standard terms and conditions adopted by the Commission. Here you will find the rates approved by the Commission that the TDUs will charge all REPs for the delivery of power to retail customers.
Provider of Last Resort Designation and Electricity Facts Labels
The Commission has designated Providers of Last Resort (POLR) in each area of Texas open to competition. POLR service is relatively high-priced, due to the costs associated with planning and the risk of serving an uncertain number of customers with uncertain electricity loads. This service is intended to be temporary and used only under rare circumstances when a REP is unable to provide service, or when a customer requests POLR service. Here you will find the designated POLRs for each area of Texas along with the Electricity Facts Labels for POLR service.
Average Annual Rate Comparison for Residential Electric Service
Here you will find monthly comparisons of the average annual rates offered by REPs for service to residential customers in the areas of Texas open to competition.
Monthly Retail Electric Service Bill Comparison for Residential Electric Service
Here you will find comparisons of the monthly bills resulting from the rates offered by REPs for service to residential customers in the areas of Texas open to competition.
Monthly Residential and Commercial Electric Bill Information for Areas Not Open to Competition
Here you will find a monthly bill comparison for residential and commercial customers of various utilities in Texas that are not yet open to retail competition.
Electricity Facts Labels for Residential Electric Service
The Facts Labels include average rate information, information about the sources of power used by the REP, information about the emissions and waste associated with the power sources of the REP, and information about the contract term and/or cancellations fees associated with service from the REP.

Commission Approved Residential Load Profile
REPs are required to include in their electricity Facts Labels, average rates, calculated using a Commission Approved Load Profile. This file contains the Commission Approved Residential Load Profile (sometimes referred to as the Load Shape).
Price to Beat Tariffs for Affiliated Retail Electric Providers
Until January 1, 2007, Retail Electric Providers (REPs) affiliated with the former bundled utility were required to offer a set of rates to retail customers with peak demand below 1 MW in their affiliated transmission and distribution utility's service area. These rates could be adjusted twice annually upon Commission approval for changes in the price of natural gas or purchased energy. Here you will find the historical rates for the areas of Texas open to competition.
