Job Description:
Work is performed at the direction of the HR Director with latitude and judgment within the framework of the policies and procedures of the agency and is subject to periodic review. Three major components include: Annual update and implementation of the Workforce Plan, coordinating employee education and training programs, and employee/management relations. Recruiting, staffing and retention will also be a major component of this position. Coordination of Family Medical Leave, Worker’s Compensation and the Americans with Disabilities activities is also a major component of this job. Performs other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years experience in personnel management. Graduation from an accredited four-year college with courses in personnel management, behavioral science, and/or public administration. Experience and education may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Remarks (Application procedure, Special requirements):
Extensive knowledge of public personnel administration, knowledge of the Federal and State laws, objectives, principles and procedures of Equal Opportunity (EEO), personnel practices, and training techniques. Must have ability to exercise professionalism, tact and courtesy. Ability to write, plan, organize, and coordinate programs and activities affecting individuals as well as large groups; and to maintain effective working relationships with other personal both within and outside the agency staff. Skill in operating standard office equipment and computer software. Must be able to sit or stand up to eight hours per day and work under deadlines.
