Toll-Free Line Helps WIC Clients Locate Clinics

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program clients displaced by disasters such as Hurricane Ike and the floods in Presidio can call (800) WIC-FORU – (800) 942-3678 – toll free to find the location of the nearest WIC clinic.

Calls are answered from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, according to Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) officials.

Clients may continue to access WIC benefits through either their electronic benefits card or by vouchers.

WIC is a nutrition program that helps low-income pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well and learn about nutrition.
