Welcome to the home page of the DSHS program that registers and regulates code enforcement officers in Texas. This website contains information about code enforcement officers including registration requirements, how to file a complaint, how to contact our office, and more.
Code Enforcement Officer Registration Program Advisory Committee Appointments
The Commissioner of DSHS requests assistance in identifying applicants for membership on the Code Enforcement Officer Registration Program Advisory Committee.
The positions requiring appointments are for:
- Two Code Enforcement Officers
- Certified Building Inspector
- Structural Engineer or Architect
- Public Member
Both appointments will serve terms of six years. To qualify, an applicant must be Code Enforcement Officers within the program or members of the public. The terms of these positions will be staggered and begin upon appointment. The terms will end no later than the year 2014.
We are currently authorized to reimburse only consumer members of the Code Enforcement Officer Registration Program Advisory Committee for allowable travel expenses while on committee business. Non-consumer members will be responsible for their own travel-related expenses, including transportation, meals, and lodging.
All people who wish to be considered as a nominee must complete the Application for Advisory Committee ppointment provided below. All applications will remain on file for twelve (12) months. Completed applications, including two letters of recommendation, should be mailed to the following address by November 30, 2009.
