Texas
is one of 22 states with a process for approval or adoption of instructional
materials. "A Brief Overview of the Adoption Process"
will provide a basic understanding of the textbook review and adoption
process. "How to Participate in the Adoption Process"
is directed at publishers who are interested in adopting materials
in the state of Texas. Texas law and State Board of Education rules
that govern the textbook adoption process have been provided for
reference. Additionally, instructional materials are adopted every
six years according to an adoption cycle which is referenced below.
