TSSWCB State District 3 Board Member
José Dodier, Jr.
Chairman
José Dodier, Jr., of Zapata, Texas, was elected May 3, 2005 to serve on the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, representing State District 3. Dodier was re-elected in May 2007 to serve another two-year term on the Board. Dodier currently represents the Board on the Coastal Coordination Council. He is Chairman of the Zapata Soil and Water Conservation District Board and has been a member of that Board for 13 years.
Dodier is a partner in Don José Land & Cattle Company in Zapata County, which is a conservation-driven, cow-calf operation that produces commercial Charbray cattle. He is also a private oil and gas gauger providing gas measurement services to royalty owners. Dodier conducts gas volume calculations, meter inspections for calibration and gas well production audits.
Soil and Water Conservation Service
- May 2005, elected to serve on the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, and appointed to represent the Board on the Coastal Coordination Council.
- Member of the board of directors of the National Association of Conservation Districts since 1997.
- Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts Immediate Past President from 2003 to 2005 and President from 2000 to 2003.
- Chairman of the Zapata Soil and Water Conservation District. Member of the Board for 13 years.
