Welcome to the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC)
Welcome to the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) Web site. The TFC oversees the state’s real estate development as owners and operators of state facilities, providing extensive real estate master planning and development strategy for the State of Texas. Our Facility Design and Construction team is responsible for overseeing the design and construction of state facilities throughout the state. We are currently managing 125 projects worth over $500 million, in addition to maintaining the Facilities Master Plan.
Our private sector partnerships, as well as recently-recruited in-house talent, keep us at technology’s cutting edge with respect to state-of-the-art building design standards, energy efficiency, and the use of building information modeling (BIM), a three-dimensional architectural, engineering and design software.
The agency also serves as the state’s leasing agent and tenant representative, maintaining a portfolio of approximately 1,100 leases containing 10 million square feet of space on behalf of state agencies from across the state. Our Facility Services Division is responsible for owning, operating and maintaining approximately 14.3 million square feet of office space, parking garages and parking lots owned by the State of Texas.
