Overview
Support Services consists of the Federal Surplus Property, State Surplus Property, and Recycling and Waste Management. All of these programs provide invaluable support to various state agencies, but they also provide vital functions to citizens and clients of the State of Texas. TFC's Federal Surplus Property Program certifies organizations as eligible under federal agency regulations to receive and use surplus federal government property for a handling fee. The State Surplus Property Program disposes of salvage and surplus personal property from state agencies. The Recycling and Waste Management Program collects recyclable materials and manages the waste generated by state employees in Austin.
The Federal Surplus Property Program receives goods donated by federal programs and disperses it to eligible organizations. FSP also certifies those eligible organizations and is supported through the revenue it produces through handling fees.
The State Surplus Property Program gathers and disperses surplus goods collected from other state agencies. The SSP is open to other government bodies and select organizations and private citizens are eligible to purchase items after those parties have had the opportunity to buy them.
Recycling and Waste Management
The Recycling and Waste Management program promotes recycling, collects
recyclable goods and handles waste created by Austin-based state
