Welcome to Volunteer DFPS
Volunteers play an important role in helping DFPS accomplish its mission to protect the unprotected.
In 2007, about 900 groups and individuals contributed almost 135,000 hours of their time to help DFPS workers deliver important services to our clients.

You can volunteer to help children (Child Protective Services, or CPS), aged or disabled adults (Adult Protective Services, or APS), or in support of quality child care in Texas (Child Care Licensing, or CCL). Volunteers work in offices, with caseworkers, directly with clients, or on community boards or groups, helping clients with clothing and supplies, life skills, transport, companionship, and so much more.
