- Under the general direction of the executive director, the council staff is organized into six divisions:
- Administration
- Executive staff, staff services and facilities management, and accounting and purchasing. Read more about Administration.

- Text and data input, proofreading, graphic design and layout, printing and photocopying, and delivery and distribution support for the preparation of council documents and house official printings, engrossments, and enrollments. Read more about Document Production.
- Information Systems
- Computer support services; selecting and developing software, including web applications; selecting, installing, and maintaining computer hardware; maintaining the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network, and Internet access; and operating Help Desk and training services. - Legal
- Drafting and editing of legislative and other legal documents, including bills, joint resolutions, floor and committee amendments and substitutes, conference committee reports, legal memoranda, and requests for attorney general opinions; code revision; and legal research. Read more about Legal.
