AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) announces the well driller and pump installer examinations will be offered in Spanish beginning April 1, 2008,.
PSI, the company under contract with TDLR to administer the well driller and pump installer tests, offers the examination in Texas at the following locations: Abilene, Amarillo, Arlington, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Harlingen, Houston, Lubbock, McAllen, Midland, San Antonio, Tyler and Waco. PSI also offers Texas examinations at Lake Charles, Shreveport and other locations where a PSI site exists.
To acquire a license an applicant must submit an application with TDLR, have at least 2 years of hand-on experience or have worked as a registered apprentice for a minimum of 2 years under a licensed driller who possesses a well driller or pump installer license. Once the application is approved by TDLR the candidate must take and pass each appropriate examination.
Individuals who have met all application requirements are eligible to take an examination and are notified by TDLR. After receiving this notification, they can make arrangements to take the exams in English or Spanish by contacting PSI at (800) 733-9267.
