Two Weeks and Counting to License Deadline - Tow Truck Operators and Vehicle Storage Facility Employees Must Be Licensed

AUSTIN – September 1, 2008, all tow operators and vehicle storage facility (VSF) employees must be licensed. All vehicle storage facility employees are required to be licensed. This includes office staff, field staff; everyone working at the facility must be licensed. Tow truck operators are required to have a license in one of the following areas:
- An Incident Management license holder can perform non-consent tows, private property tows and consent tows
- A Private Property license permits non-consent tows and consent tows
- A Consent Tow license holder can perform consent tows. Consent tow trucks may only do Consent Tows.
VSF employees and tow truck operators must be licensed on September 1, 2008.
