Online License Application

PLEASE NOTE:

The Texas Racing Commission recently approved occupational licensing fee increases that will become effective on August 1, 2009. All applications
received by the Commission on or after August 1, 2009 will be charged the revised fees. Click here to view the new fee chart.

A Revised Returned Check Policy goes into effect on August 1, 2009. See Announcement.

Like many other state agencies, the Racing Commission accepts license applications through the Texas OnLine Internet portal. Applications for many new licenses, as well as license renewals, may be submitted and paid for electronically.

REMEMBER....

Paying for a license online does not automatically issue you a license. The license is issued only after the online application is received and processed by the Racing Commission. After your application has been processed and your license is issued, you will receive an acknowledgement letter from the Texas Racing Commission. (You must visit a Racing Commission office to obtain a badge.) If for some reason your license cannot be issued, you will be contacted by a Racing Commission employee as soon as possible.

Online Application Process
The online license application process is really very simple. In a nutshell, you need to do three things:

  1. Fill in the online license application. This application requires the same type of information that you would enter onto a paper application form.
  2. Pay the applicable license fee, using a major credit card or a draft from your checking account (ACH).
  3. Submit to the Racing Commission any additional information required, such as fingerprints or an addendum form with the required signatures and/or approvals.
Click here to see a list of the Racing Commission's license types and the applicable fees and approval requirements. The Racing Commission can help you determine what type of license you may need and which of the Texas OnLine applications you should use.

If you are not eligible for a license but choose to proceed
with the online application process, your license fee cannot be refunded.
