The Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is hosting its annual ICF/MR Provider & Surveyor Conference. This two-day conference is for ICF/MR providers, direct care staff and professionals who work with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Working with people with intellectual disabilities can be both a rewarding and challenging profession. This year's conference will provide valuable training sessions for all ICF/MR providers and all DADS ICF/MR survey staff.

The Surrogate Decision-making Program is holding training for new volunteers during the ICF/MR Conference. In order to be certified as a Surrogate Consent Committee (SCC) volunteer, a person must complete a four-hour training program. There is no fee to attend this training.

Adult Day Care Stakeholder Meeting

The agenda is being developed considering comments from the Aug. 19 meeting, information to be shared by agency staff, and by receiving additional items from stakeholders.

Enrollment training for Consumer Directed Services Agencies scheduled for February 3-4, 2010

The next enrollment training for entities interested in becoming a Consumer Directed Services Agency (CDSAs) is scheduled for February 3-4, 2010 in Austin at the John H. Winters Building, 701 W. 51st Street. Attendance both days is mandatory. The training will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. both days.
