What We Do
The Texas Veterans Commission serves veterans, their dependents and survivors, in all matters pertaining to veterans' benefits and rights. It is the designated agency of the State of Texas to represent the State and its veterans before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We represent veterans in filing VA disability claims, during VA appeals processes and assisting dependents with survivor benefits.

Who We Serve
There are approximately 1.7 million veterans currently living in the State of Texas. More than $3 billion in compensation and pension is distributed each year in Texas to veterans with service-connected disabilities, veterans eligible for non-service connected pensions and eligible surviving family members.

Filing a Claim
The Texas Veterans Commission has more than 65 claims counselors to represent veterans with disability claims and appeals. Counselors also help veterans and their families with questions regarding benefits, survivor and dependent needs, filling out VA paperwork, and medical issues. For more assistance or to have a claims counselor begin representing you, please call or visit the closest Texas Veterans Commission office. Where We Are Located
Given the size of Texas, veterans are found in many locations throughout the State. The largest concentration of veterans live near the major cities of Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Austin, El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley. In order to assist these veterans, Texas Veterans Commission claims and benefits counselors are located in VA Regional Offices, VA medical facilities, VA clinics, and military installations throughout the State.
