Honored Employees at TFC Employee Recognition Banquet

AUSTIN – Ten were honored with prestigious awards at the first-ever TFC Employee Recognition Banquet held July 8 at historic Saengerrunde Hall. Five employees were presented with the agency’s Legacy Award, given by Executive Director Edward Johnson to an employee who exemplifies TFC’s commitment to excellence in service to the people of the State of Texas.

Five others were honored as winners in the categories of Innovation, Customer Service, Leadership and Special Achievement, and those who won various categories in the agency’s first-ever Truck Roadeo held in May were feted as well.

Legacy Award winners were Esther Rodriguez (Facilities Management), Kayro Franklin (Maintenance and Plant Operations), Paulinda Mackie (Facilities Design and Construction), Gayla Davis (Leasing) and Stan Korn (Fiscal).

Other winners included Patrick Barry (Administration - Innovation), Richard Ehlert (Administration – Leadership), Rachel Ramirez (Facilities Management – Customer Service), David Smith (Administration – Customer Service)  and Bethany Bounds (Administration – Special Achievement).

Truck Roadeo winners – and their categories – were Marcos Perez (Grand Champion), Amador Aleman (Offset Backing), Brian Berry (Cloverleaf), Jason Charron (Vehicle Inspection), Jon Lunday (Stop Line) and Mark Polanco (Serpentine).

Approximately 250 attended the banquet, which included a light-hearted “roast” resulting in several “special awards” being delivered. Bill Miller’s BBQ catered the event.
