What changes are happening with CUSA?

Over the past two years, the NSC, working in conjunction with the CUSA Board, has conducted a business analysis of the CUSA Certification. Because of the review, the Council has made a business decision to sunset the CUSA Certification as of July 1, 2009.

What do these changes mean to me as an existing CUSA?

As of July 1, 2009, NSC will issue persons holding current and renewed CUSA certificates, and they will be able to retain the certification without having to renew it annually. NSC will continue to verify CUSA status for employers.

Please note that if your CUSA designation is not active as of July 1, 2009, you will not receive the certificate without expiration. If you have questions concerning your status or renewal period, please contact Pam Johnson at CUSA@nsc.org or 630-775-2097.

What date will NSC stop accepting new applications?

NSC will stop accepting new applications on February 1st, 2009 and allow only those who have submitted applications by that deadline to apply for CUSA designation. No applications will be accepted after February 1st, 2009.

Will I still be able to use the CUSA designation?

Yes. NSC will continue to house the records of those who have been CUSA designated.
