Pre-Discharge Program
A new site regarding predischarge programs is now available. This site provides information to assist servicemembers in filing claims prior to release from active military service.

Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation:
Claims are now being accepted from Filipino Veterans eligible for one-time payments from the Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation (FVEC) fund. If an eligible person who has filed a FVEC claim dies before payment is made, VA will pay the surviving spouse, if any. To be considered for the FVEC benefit, a completed VA Form 21-4138 (CF), Statement in Support of Claim (FVEC), must be submitted to VA. Please see the News Flash below which contains frequently asked questions.

Expediting Fully Developed Claims:
On December 17, 2008, VA began a one-year pilot program at 10 regional offices to assess the feasibility and advisability of processing within 90 days after receipt fully developed compensation and pension claims. A Certification of Fully Developed Claim should accompany each claim submitted under this pilot program. For additional details, please see the FDC frequently asked questions.
