Second Apron, Mount Evans High on the flanks of Mount Evans, rising above Summit Lake to meet the west ridge at more than 14,000 feet, there are several impressive rock slabs known as the Aprons. These rock faces offer 500 to 600 vertical feet of mostly moderate, technical climbing.
Clear choice: The designers at Lug make sturdy little collapsible coolers, vinyl totes and other storage bags in bright colors with quilted fabric accents and fun shapes. They're sized to be mixed and matched for picnics and other outings. My favorites are the Clearview transparent totes.

Hotel Monaco, San Francisco Stay here if you: appreciate whimsical design — from brightly striped room walls to charming sculptures and stunning artwork in the public areas — attentive service and funky flourishes like in-room goldfish (by request).
Sky Hotel, Aspen Stay here if you: want to be in the middle of the Aspen action, with 39 Degrees off the lobby, one of the hottest bars in town. It opens onto a pool scene that's boiling.
