Rockies lead back to 4 1/2 games
Jimenez helps the Rockies expand their wild-card advantage as a homestand awaits.
09/20/2009
Ubaldo Jimenez rediscovered himself Sunday afternoon in the desert, and in the process, the Rockies took a giant leap toward the postseason.
Torrealba on a tear with runners in scoring position
09/20/2009 - Yorvit Torrealba has become the Rockies' ARM — automatic run machine. He had a run-scoring single among his two hits Sunday. Since May 29, he is 17-for-23 (.739) with runners in scoring position. He hit .379 (11-for-29) on the road trip, boosting his season average to .290.

Giambi seemingly in right place, right time
09/20/2009 - Jason Giambi is having the time of his life. Or, at the very least, the veteran slugger is thoroughly enjoying the latest chapter.

Smith living large with bigger bat
09/20/2009 - A bat and a glance. That is the simple explanation for Seth Smith's transformation from a cool alliteration to this summer's hitting sensation.

Rockies stretch wild-card lead
09/20/2009 - Jason Hammel doesn't have Ubaldo Jimenez's 98-mph fastball. He doesn't possess Jorge De La Rosa's put-away slider. He can't throw a cannonball sinker like Jason Marquis.

Post Poll - Broncos or Rox?

It's that time of year when the Rockies are in the playoff hunt and the NFL season has started up. With both teams playing two Sunday afternoons in a row, which team will you be watching?

Rockies! I prefer the on-field drama of this team. The off-field drama of the Broncos has turned me off and, except for the Immaculate Deflection, their first game was a dull waste of time.
Broncos! The Rockies are a fun summer diversion, but now it's NFL season.
Both! I'll be flipping the remote back and forth all afternoon.
