Trail Mix
Second Apron, Mount Evans
High on the flanks of Mount Evans, rising above Summit Lake to meet the west ridge at more than 14,000 feet, there are several impressive rock slabs known as the Aprons. These rock faces offer 500 to 600 vertical feet of mostly moderate, technical climbing.

Gearing Up
Doubletree Hotel, Grand Junction, Colorado

GeoQuiz
Guyana, Maldives, Sweden

This is what happens when fortune cookie writers are forced to seek employment elsewhere.

Toxic blessing
Nothing quite says "I love my country" like dropping off some hazardous waste.

...and then tarred and feathered
It's not some cruel punishment dreamed up by the park management team. This natural Japanese pond is in fact boiling.

Signspotter Gary Boyd wonders if the colors — yellow letters on a red background — and proximity are just a coincidence.
