Last week we brought you news of Direct2Drive’s 5th birthday sale-stravaganza wherein various direct-download action-themed games were going for $5 each.

The five-week sale is in its third week, and today kicks off a bunch of RPG and MMO titles for just five buckaroos apiece.

It’s been about three years since the Nintendo Wii was first released here in the good ol’ USA. Its number one claim to fame, motion control, sure isn’t unique anymore, what with Project Natal for the Xbox 360, and whatever Sony’s improved motion control thing is called coming out fairly soon. But are these motion control deals mere gimmicks (I think so, just based on how I play game; the public may well think differently), or something more? “Gimmicks!” yelled Square Enix’s Yoichi Wada.

You guys sitting down? Bad news from The Internet!

Rare, the company behind GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64, basically said that the game will probably never be available for download on the Wii or Xbox 360.

You know what would be a fun experiment? To go outside and find your electricity meter. All those laptops and netbooks and iPhones and PS3s and speaker docks you’ve got plugged in are, in fact, drawing power. As such, we’re all essentially killing the planet. I don’t know about you, but I’m patting myself on the back right now for being so awesome.

Now this is the type of radio a fancy gentleman would use. It’s the latest PURE Sensia, a touchscreen European radio that supports FM, DAB (and DAB+), and Internet radio. There’s also Wi-Fi and “widgets,” I guess, for sites like Facebook and Twitter.

BGR managed to finagle some details over the weekend, shedding a light on the price points for the HTC Pure (Touch2), HTC Tilt2 (Touch Pro2), along with the long-fabled Garmin-Asus nuvifone G60.

Dynamism now has some competition with the Viliv X70; well sort-of. Newegg just started selling the amazing Viliv X70 tablet PC, but don’t buy it from them unless you wanna overpay.

Well good morning, Interesting Netbook. You have caught my attention thanks to your inclusion of NVIDIA’s Ion chipset, 1366×768 display, 2GB of RAM, Windows 7 operating system, and longer-than-long battery life.

As expected, the chairman of the FCC, Julius Genachowski, announced today his agency’s support for Net Neutrality. Odds are if you’re reading us then you have a basic idea of what Net Neutrality is, but if not it can be summed up like this: ISPs will be expected to treat all data equally, and not favor 0s and 1s from Company A or Company B, no matter what sweetheart a deal may be in place. The idea is that, since all data is treated equally, consumers will have better, unfettered access to the sites and services they choose to support.

Panasonic has developed a new face recognition system that’s pretty impressive. Their technology not only makes it possible to detect (and clearly display) faces in dark or overly bright settings but also if the person in question is behind glass and the face is covered with reflections.
